North American Frame Drum Association, Inc.

is proud to offer for

Frame Drum Fest 2009, the

Glen Velez Frame Drum Scholarship

1 scholarship to attend Frame Drum Fest 2009 covering the festival's fee & registration, worth a total of $480.00, will be awarded from a generous fund donated by Glen Velez (this scholarship does not include travel costs). The scholarship is open to deserving non-professional frame drummers only.

NOTE: No minors (under 18) can stay on site overnight.

TO APPLY: Applicants should send a typed letter of application in English stating your background with frame drums along with a 3-5 minutes only DVD-R (minus format in NTSC video only with your name clearly marked) demonstrating your playing ability of either a single frame drum style or a variety of styles. A panel of three judges made up from the Board of Directors and Advisory Board of the North American Frame Drum Association, Inc. will decide upon a winner. Completed applications are due no later than November 15, 2008, and the winner will be announced by mid-January 2009. Any application not following the directions as stated above will be discarded.

Internships for Frame Drum Fest 2009

A limited number of internships (2-3) are available for students (18 & over) in financial need that live in the local area of the festival (New Jersey), have a car, and will not require housing during the festival. Internships amount to a $180.00 discount on the festival, include meals, and involve assisting with various duties during the festival that will not conflict with workshops, presentations, or concerts. The offer of internships will only be considered after the festival is officially sold out with regards to housing space available. Internships will be decided upon by 3 members from the Board of Directors & Resident Agent of the North American Frame Drum Association, Inc. Applications are due no later than January 1, 2009. Internships will be announced by late-January 2009.

To Apply: Send a letter demonstrating financial need, your background with frame drums, and proof of current enrollment as a student.
